Default Switch for back up beeper........

I want to put a switch on the back up beeper so I don't have to listen to it all the time but could still use it for diagnostics or when it seemed appropriate. Since there is pack voltage to the beeper I have 2 questions:

1. Since I'm on 48v now, is the original 36v beeper ok?
2. Do I need a 48v switch or will one rated for 12v work? I have one that I'm not using that came with the light kit that would work perfectly for this application unless the 12v switch won't stand the voltage.

TIA,

Terry

Go ahead and use the 12v switch. There is no current to speak of in that circuit, so the voltage rating of the switch is a non-issue. As for the buzzer on 48v, I have not heard of it being a problem. My 48v conversion has 48v to the reverse alarm for quite a while now.

For my reference, if you replace the stock PDS conrtroller with an Alltrax unit do you retain diagnostic mode? I doubt it....

I think so from what Scotty said. I'm totally stupid on the subject. I'm sure he'll pass by here soon and chime in.

Stop posting my cell # in weird places. A lady from your church called and said I could start painting her fence on Monday

Gman is right there is no diagnostic codes with the Alltrax controllers... did I say otherwise ? Agaain take the buzzer and throw it in the trash can, lol

Have you been smoking that stuff again? Yes, That is exactly what you said.

It gonna rain on Monday. You'll have to paint the fence Tuesday.
