That is a good starting point. You need those no matter what upgrades you get. Check out the battery tutorials on my website like "How to properly break in batteries" so you get the most from your investment.

Update....

I purchased 6 batteries from Sams Club. I checked the voltage of each before hooking them up and they were all around 6.2 - 6.4. I hooked them up to charge for the first time, and they were reading 7.4 I think, can't remember, but in line with what I've read. I'm following the instructions on battery break-in that I've read here, 10-12 charges only letting the cart get to 75%. So I plugged the cart in for the 6th charge and decided to check the voltage after and the 3 batteries I checked showed 6.4 each. So I'm thinking it didn't charge completely even though the charger shut off. So I plug it back in, and check a battery while plugged in, and it reads 7.2. After it cuts off, I go back and the battery is at 6.4? Is this normal until the batteries get broken in?

Thanks!

Randy print this handy chart out, it shows 6.4 is a fully charged battery. \

Battery readings should be taken 12 hours after the charger shuts off. Just let the cart set, no use. This will give you the true reading of what they can hold. Not how much the charger puts in.

What happened to the controller upgrade? I thought Mama wanted some more torque!?

re Battery break in, you will see a big improvement in the battery strength over the first few charge cycles because a new battery is usually about 75% capacity and they rise quickly and then taper off but continue to improve in strength for as many as 150 cycles according to Trojan Battery Co.

Hope this helps.
