Is it difficult to remove Motor in EZGo PDS Cart?
Hello,
I'm a new Cart owner and have EZ GO Electric cart with failing Speed sensor (according to the PDS diagnostics). I want to replace the Speed Sensor and examine the magnet on the end of the motor -and it sure seems like it would be easier with the motor removed from the cart. However, never having tried to take the motor out of the cart - how big of a job is that? What am I getting myself into? Is there step-by-step instructions on how to remove electric motor from EZGO cart somewhere in the forum? Any suggestions/help appreciated. |

Remove key, select neutral, switch controller to tow.
Remove main pack NEGATIVE, remove main pack POSITIVE. Label the four cables attached to the lugs on the motor. Remove these four cables using TWO WRENCHES, ONE ON THE BOTTOM NUT, ONE ONE THE TOP NUT. Disconnect the speed sensor. Strap a belt around the motor and have a helper support the weight while you remove the three bolts holding the motor to the differential. Slide the motor sideways off the input shaft. Lower motor to the ground. IT'S HEAVY!!! |
