Default need advice on series/regen dcs/pds

Here goes.

I just finished my first ever golf cart build, and I think I did pretty well, ill add pics later.

it was a 2005 ezgo txt cart with a series motor.
I upgraded to a D&D motors high torque and lots of other goodies.

My question is that I am ready to start a new project and I do not really understand the differences between a series motor and a regen motor
or on a regen motor between a dcs and pds.

I want the cart to be as quick as possible with enough torque to go on the beach or offroad well

My current cart runs 16 mph on 23" tires and will ride a 6-10" wheely

more speed would be great but I reall just want to understand the differences so that I can make an informed decision on my next project cart.

Thanks
