2000 Custom Club Car Questions
I bought a club car (serial # A0043-949952) based on a post here it is a 2000. It is also a series model based on the type of F&R switch. First time riding it I thought it was painfully slow so last night I put my gps on it and it got up to 12 mph, did take a while thought. So maybe it’s not as slow as I thought but it sure does take of slow. When going up a small incline cart slow to about 6-8 mph. I bought the cart at an auction so I don’t have any resource to ask about it’s parts, aftermarket or OEM. The batteries have a sticker on them that reads “A12” so I believe they are 2012 batteries. The cart is a 48v system, based on there are 4 caps on each battery, 2v per cap is what I read on the forum. The cart has a lift kit but I don’t know how to tell if 4”or 6” lift. The Tire size is 22x11x12 I saw kits with the same rims and tires being sold on eBay with a 6” lift kit, so if I had to guess I would say 6” lift. I believe it has the OEM motor, controller, solenoid and wires (6g), based on it’s speed. The cart has a jaguar body kit and back seat, so this probably weights more than the OEM; just a guess. Sorry for the long post just trying to be descriptive. I have done some research about what is needed to speed it up on the forms and have some questions.
First question what should the speed be as is, I have herd about 16 mph? If 16 is reasonable what could be the causes of it being slow? On the forum people talk about the Plum Quick website as an option to speed up the cart with out changing the controller and other components. So with my carts options do you really think it will get up to 25 mph and increase the torque? Is there a best of both worlds, some thing that increases torque and speed, substantially? Speed around 22-25 mph & good torque. I called d&d motor systems and I got a no there is not a best of both worlds option for my cart. So does anyone have any suggestions or is that just how it is? Does anyone have any idea where i can find body parts? Thanks |

Cool looking cart body
Can you post a pic of the speed controller? With tires that big and all the additional weight (roll bar, rear seat, etc) The controller, solenoid, F&R, and cables should be upgraded. |

Re: 2000 Custom Club Car Questions
I don't know weather yours is a series or a sepex cart. I have a 2001 series. Stock it was doing 12 but didn't slow too much on a small incline. I bought the plum quick bandit and now it does 21 and a lot more torque.

Re: 2000 Custom Club Car Questions
scottyb;
Yes, I will take some pictures and post Monday. So now the only question is what should I upgrade to and where is the best place to buy from? I have been talking to the guy over at plum quick and he thinks I should upgrade to a high torque motor with 700 amp controller and solenoid, switch and wires; just as you suggested. He says that this way I should get about 22mph and plenty of torque, and worse case I will have to change the gears if I want to go faster. But my question is does any one think I should do all that or just the “bandit” motor with stock controller? monepit; My question for you does yours cart have lift kit, tires and rear seat? Mine is a series. |

Re: 2000 Custom Club Car Questions
Mine is a series. It does not have a lift and is close to stock size tires. I am putting a rear seat on this weekend but the numbers I gave you are without it. The bandit does great for me but I can't say what it will do for your case. The guys at plum quick seem to know what everything will do so I would talk to them also Scotty seems to know what the upgrades will do. I was going to go with the executioner and a 500 amp controller but that was going to be about $1200 compared to less that 300 for the bandit. I didn't need the extra for my needs so it was a no brainier. Your circumstances may differ from mine. Good luck with young choice.

Re: 2000 Custom Club Car Questions
In my last series cart, year 2000, we stuck a GE motor in it and it got 25 MPH and ok torque with stock controller, great torque with upgraded alltrax controller. This would now be the AMD motor. Just google 5.5hp@5700 rpm and you will see the motor.
