Hot Charger
The charger for my club car 2007 ds seems to get extremely hot when charging. Batteries are about 2 yrs. old and have been properly maintained. It has always been warm, but this seems hotter. Is this normal as the batteries age?

Re: Hot Charger
Welcome to the forum...
Chargers do get warm (or hot) when they charge, I would say if everything is still functioning as normal, don't worry about it. |

Re: Hot Charger
Pick up or borrow an inferred "laser" temperature gun. Harbor Freight has them for under $30. They are a very useful tool. Measure the chargers maximum temp. I have an on-board QC charger and it gets 170°F during charging. The manufacture says that is normal. To make myself feel better I mounted a small 3" fan from walmart right next to it. Now it only gets to 120°F during charging.

Re: Hot Charger
ALIBI,
You need to do a search for hot chargers? Is yours a powerwise 3? I believe TAHOE DOG replied on a post and attached a message from Club Car. After reading the Club Car message I'm not concerned about my hot PW3 charger anymore. Steve |
