Re: 09' Precedent maiden voyage=disaster
More than likely they are 6 gauge. They look like standard wires...that is just from looking.

CMALBERTO,
You will figure it all out, yes I would replace/upgrade your cables! I'm glad to see there was really no disaster other than a learning expeirence. Last year my Club Car was running circles all day around my friends "Beast" We were about 4 miles from the cabin and my Club Car died! batteries shot! cart would not move! He had to tow me back and even took a picture of shame. Paying attention to your batteries is very important for many years of happy carting. Steve |

Re: 09' Precedent maiden voyage=disaster
A much better day/evening today. Batteries charging was complete when I got home. I think each battery had 8.4 volts. Total was 50.6v. Took apart the dash - found the 2 leads ScottyB told me about on the phone. Ordered a digital volt meter. Should be in this weekend I would guess. Can't wait to install. Ran all evening and about 30 minutes plus with lights. Put air in the tires(30 psi) - they were low. Was still running 17-18mph when I put her up. Voltage was 48.7 By the chart I was still a tad over 50%.
So the question becomes - when should I call it quits and head home to charge? I suspect the charging will get better after I condition and get the batteries broke in. Thanks for all the help. Will be buying a voltage reduce probably next week. And new cables in a month or so. My wallet is getting dried up. |
