Re: New Club Car Owner - Upgrades planned and have some questions
Ok just did a little speed test. got to 15 mph and then the speed controller took over.
Are the magnets the best way to go? Or should I get the proper code downloaded? |

Re: New Club Car Owner - Upgrades planned and have some questions
You have speed code 3. Code 4 would get you about 19.5. I can't answer the question about code 4 or the magnets since I have not done either of those. I installed a plum quick bandit motor and I am getting 26 mph with 20.5" tires and a stock controller on level pavement.

Wow. 26 mph! That's fast. I think right at the 20 mark would be good for me. This is primarily going to be used to drop my kids off at school in a residential neighborhood and the occasional ice cream run on the weekends. Thanks for the input.

Re: New Club Car Owner - Upgrades planned and have some questions
I have an 04 with a 4 12 setup. I put a magnet in and have 23" AT tires. I'm getting 22MPH on the speed limit sign radar. Everything else is stock with new 1275 Trojans. I also went with rear seat keeping the basket and have been really happy with it. I'm going to install an aux battery for amp and lights hopefully next week. Have Fun

Re: New Club Car Owner - Upgrades planned and have some questions
So the build is going well. Got the leaf springs installed today. Very easy install with little fuss. Replaced all the bushings on the shocks and leafs why were at it.
On installing the light kit we encountered some cut wires in the factory harness where the previous owner had installed some accessories. A little soldering and heat shrink tubing we were back in business. I went with the madjax kit made for the precedent and it was a very easy install. To add a little flare and some extra visibility we put 10k HID's in the madjax assembly. If anyone is wondering they are 8089 bulbs that literally snap right in. We mounted the ballasts right in the middle of the back side of the bumper and used heat shrink tubing on all the connectors. For now the lights were installed using the blue wire to the battery but this will be changed when I get my aux battery and fuse box hooked up. I will post pics of the way we mounted the lights so if anyone is interested in installing the HID's in their lights. Again thanks for all the help. |
