That is the question, still, isn't it? If anyone answers with conviction, either way, I hope it is backed up with why or why not. Yes would be a huge answer for me because I always tell my son at the campground - you can ride it all day or you can ride it all night, you can't do both. If a couple hour charge won't hurt it, it would make a difference.

Definitive answer....YES you can interrupt the charge cycle just as scottyb said. It is like money in the bank. Gives just a bit more power during the day. Its best if you have a meter so you don't take them down too far while doing this. Just make sure they get a full charge at the end of the day!!

I go by the old rule P & P , parked and plugged. mine will run around at say 12pm for a half hour , then parked till say 3pm were it make another half hour round , then a 7pm round for an hour and all with a charge in between . sometimes it done sometimes its not but it always gets a full charge overnight.

But this doesn't finish answering the question. Most of us agree that park and plug is the way to go. But the question is - do we park and plug even if we know the charge cycle is not going to be completed before we unplug? If these batteries have no issues with developing a "memory", it stands to reason that quick charges shouldn't be an issue. But then why are so many of us under the impression that the charge cycle should be allowed to complete, once started, or else it's bad for the batteries?

This blew up because the key word in the original post was NEW battery's.

For what it's worth I got 9ys out of a set of no name brand battery's that were 2ys old when I got the cart using the park and plug method. And really I could have probably got another year or two out of them.
