solid copper for battery cables?

Putting current flow aside, how are You going to attach the solid wire to the motor which travels up and down with the suspension ? It will eventually crack when it flexes.

I was just going to do the battery pack. Being that the studs on the battery are 5/16 I figured 3/8s solid copper should be plenty. I like the idea because it will give the a pack a clean look. I was thinking about using air brake lines to insulate the copper lines.

Not a good idea at all! You will stress the battery connections.

If the battery's move around.The copper can be bent round for a perfect fit.

Every bump in the road is going to stress the connections. Do it at your own risk. It does not make good sense.

I did a couple carts with custom, non-golf cart batteries and used aluminum bar for battery connections. As noted that could be a stress point so be sure to lock down the batteries in all directions.

What are those batteries for? Did you have corrosion problems with the aluminum? I just had to ask!

I got them as take-outs from aircraft main battery packs but I think the electric racing folks (drag) use them too for their small size and power.They do not gas during charging (sealed) so no corrosion issues at all.

I say go for it! Post pics, and start a dedicated thread for the mod and keep us updated.
The battery pack is not going to move, they are strapped down. My only concern would be corrosion on the cables when the pack offgasses.
