Do be sure to run the cylinder shroud.

These guys make it sounds all scary. First off Google Todd Cuchins. He is a big Harley golf cart parts guy and has dang near everything to even fit your cart. Lots of NOS stock stuff. Vintage Golf cart buys most of their parts for harley/par car and Todd ships them. Not a myth either, Todd showed me the emails from Roderick. Good guy but have him ship parts or you'll be there all day with him.

Electronic ignition breaks for sure. Mine was good, I replaced the cylinder it was bad. I've tried retrofitting in a Harley motorcycle electronic ignition with limited success. I keep burning the modules out. Lonchin is a big proponent of HEI conversion. I did it as well but recently went back to points. I've built 3 boards for the conversion and all of them keep going bad. I'm sure it's my issue but I just gave up and am running 100% on points now.

Ebay has quite a few parts as well. There is a guy who has quite a few things from the factory or is making new parts, including the points plate.

I got my 95 parcar as a complete basket case. Traded go cart for it and was told the golf cart kind of ran. I got it to run for 5 minutes before it croaked. A hone, rings, bearings seals and carb brought it back to life. That lasted most of the summer before it croaked again. I discovered I had a std. piston and rings in a .030 over cylinder. A re-hone, new piston and we were backin business for another season where it eventually became really hard to start. Here i found my intake tube fell off and it had been eating dirt all summer (we live on gravel). I gave up and put a new cylinder on at that point. A season later and we're still going strong.

These things are stupid simple to work on but as mentioned you have to look a bit for parts sometimes. Stay on market place and pickup some parts as they become available. I snagged a whole engine for less than 50 a year ago. It has a good starter and points plate. That was worth it alone.
