And then there's Alibaba. Found some EVE 105ah there that were advertised to be 3C continuous and 5 or 6C max from Docan and after inquiring with EVE here in the US, I found that they don't make any such cell. Just fraudulent advertising.

Where's EcoChandler with an explanation?
I found the same about my "3c" capable 90ah cells which are also only 1c...

I think some battery companies are banking on the reality that most people are not continuously drawing very much current for very long in most applications. a few minutes here or there of 2c draw may shorten the life a bit but they know it will still last years.. Of course thats not not a good thing for those that do..

There are high output cells out there but they are typically not in the sized I see many of these batteries built as.

I was wondering where you were with the 90ah build.

it worked well for me but I decided to use it in my lawnmower instead. (I wanted to play some more this time with 72v

The NMC repurposed bmw/fiat pack im building now whether I decide to go with the small 60ah size or see if I can fit 2 of them for 120ah uses cells I have confirmed are at least 150a continuous with most places and info I can find on them suggesting much more.. samsung uses them in a server backup pack thats rated as 200amps output and they are samsung cells so that good enough for me.

From what I have heard, Samsung cells are good for high current applications! If the current capability is there, 60AH is sufficient for many golf cart applications. I could get two rounds of golf with 60AH. IMO, NMC is the way to go for EV applications. Yes - they require you to be careful with them but there are lots of EV's on the road powered by them. The factory EzGo RXV's use Samsung cells - and it's a very small battery. I think they offer an upgrade to a second or larger battery but I have seen many of the Elites with small Samsung batteries and everyone I know is happy with them.

The reason I always recommend 100AH or more is that the drop-ins that most folks are looking at are LiFePO4 cells and they are marginal for high currents in the smaller sizes.

Curious, have you tried to scan the barcodes to see if they are fake? Theres an app that you can use to scan them and it gives you info on the cells like when they were made, if they are automotive grade or seconds and the capacity.
Its very common unfortunately for vendors to etch off the barcodes and laser new fake barcodes

Might want to try it with the first batch and your bad cell...
