lubricating charger plug/outlet
after 5 years of owning my cart, it has gotten progressively harder to plug in the charger
i was reading the lubrication chart in the manual, originally for gear lube spec and saw where cc recommends spraying the plug with wd40 a squirt on the plug and receptacle, now my plug goes in/out like a greased pig amazing what information can be found in the manual |

Re: lubricating charger plug/outlet
After reading this post I lightly lubricated my charger prongs, plugged it in and out of the jack a couple of times and now it's silky smooth. Thanks for the tip.

Re: lubricating charger plug/outlet
In 1953, a fledgling company called Rocket Chemical Company and its staff of three set out to create a line of rust-prevention solvents and degreasers for use in the aerospace industry.
Working in a small lab in San Diego, California, it took them 40 attempts to get the water displacing formula worked out. But they must have been really good, because the original secret formula for WD-40® -which stands for Water Displacement perfected on the 40th try—is still in use today. http://wd40.com/cool-stuff/history |

Re: lubricating charger plug/outlet
Just FYI those who believe the above...
http://www.kawasakimotorcycle.org/fo...al-system.html http://www.goldwingfacts.com/forums/...nnections.html I use contact cleaner for direct electrical application and Teflon spray for things that stick (because it dries). WD40 had its day, but even they now manufacture a direct contact spray cleaner. https://www.wd40specialist.com/products/contact-cleaner |

THIN smear of moly grease worked for me. Neat history lesson here too.

Re: lubricating charger plug/outlet
Just restoring a Bevel Twin Ducati and found Dielectric grease to be a great sealer (keeps moisture out of connections, easy to remove, etc.) but be careful how much you get directly on connections, I screwed up and got it onto a slip-in connector and it blocked the connection.
