Battery Connector cable with attached blue cable
I have a Club Car Precedent Golf cart; batteries unattached to recharge individually, no photo taken(kind of stupid), so unsure where above cable with attached blue cable goes? Have read somewhere it's a 12v source cable, but not that technically literate!

Re: Battery Connector cable with attached blue cable
You didn't mention what year your Precedent is, if you have 6-8 volt batteries this is the wrong diagram.

Re: Battery Connector cable with attached blue cable
they are 12v batteries; cart somewhere between 2010 and 2015; not sure how to tell!! The things they don't tell you - appreciate the response though!

Re: Battery Connector cable with attached blue cable
If your cart is between 2010 and 2015, it should have 6-8 volt batteries. Check your serial number, there should be a sticker in the dash on the right side. Will be something like PQ0617-000000. The second set of numbers will tell you the year.

Re: Battery Connector cable with attached blue cable
Sticker on RHS says serial number; PJ0833-943647, so I assume 2008 cart then ...which from other threads seems to be a Precedent I2 or L2 4 passenger excel!! Got a mate who should be understand the previous diagram if it's correct. The advice is much appreciated .. trying to learn as I go.

Re: Battery Connector cable with attached blue cable
Another 2 steps closer - wired 4 x 12v in negative/positive sequence using the connector with the blue cable and without attaching main positive and negative and I get 49.6 volts; also tested my powerdrive charger on another cart(thought it was broken too), but it did fire up, so it appears to be working normally!

Re: Battery Connector cable with attached blue cable
Your cart was built in the 33 week of 2008, so you have a 2008 and should have 4- 12 volt batteries.

Re: Battery Connector cable with attached blue cable
If you were not using that blue factory short wire that is attached to 1 end of the cable, then it doesn't matter where in the configuration, that you use that cable. IF you did have a small wire connected to that short blue factory wire, then it will matter.

Re: Battery Connector cable with attached blue cable
Thanks Smokey, it(blue cable) was already connected to a battery terminal connector cable, but as I didn't take pictures, I was concerned about putting it back in a wrong spot and buggering my cart completely - like blowing up the OBC or something else. I've now used this cable as part of the negative/positive series sequencing and can get 49+ volts across the whole sequence. my theory is - it was used somewhere in this sequence previously, so it shouldn't matter whereabouts in the sequence it appears. I've also put my batteries back slightly differently - aligned negative and positive terminals whilst maintaining the neg to pos wiring.

Re: Battery Connector cable with attached blue cable
The wire with the blue pigtail will run from the negative on battery number 4 and the positive on battery number 5. The blue wire is intended to plug into the positive feed of a light kit when used with a 16-12 volt reducer. Your 2008 cart could have been built with either four 12 volt batteries or six 8 volt batteries. I'm assuming it has 6 8volt batteries since it's been through a battery change between the time of manufacture and now. Anybody with any knowledge of golf cart batteries would have installed 8 volts in it instead of the 12s since the battery tub will accommodate them. If you have 12s, the wire will go from battery number 3 negative to battery number 4 positive. The direction of the wire (orientation of the blue pigtail) is irrelevant. Same result. 12 Volts positive to feed the light kit and make it happy while utilizing the main negative B- as the light kit negative regardless of battery configuration.
