06 CC Prec battery/charger question
HI All
I have a battery / gauge indicator I installed last year. When I plug in charger, it runs fine my gauge reads ok. My gauge then reads after some time of charging, its in the red, but the charger is still charging. Checked 20 minutes later same, gauge in red, now I hear bubbling and smell the batteries. (before this point No smell) Is the charger over charging or is this normal ? I never noticed this before. Is the gauge reading properly or no ? Thanks |

Also
Brand new batteries March 2017 (code C7) and new 2g cables as of last week(cable through OBC hole) (installed by dealer). Im sure the gauge is not dead on but my concern is over charging these new batteries The bubbling and hard acid smell concerns me also |

The bubbling and sulphur smell is normal. Just keep an eye on your water levels. The water in each cell should at least cover the plates completely.

Re: 06 CC Prec battery/charger question
When you reset the OBC, (disconnect the batt (-) for 10 min or so)
The OBC resets & starts to build new battery history & charges them accordingly, & treats the batts like they are new. The OBC is charging the batts like they are new batts. After a full charge check water levels, add water to just keep about 1/4 - 1/2" over the plates. Over filed batts will boil acid out the vents & start a lot of corrosion issues 65 volts when charging is not unusual. |
