I’m wanting to switch back to the ez pds map, to keep the minimum field amps above 2, but can’t find the old map. Can someone shoot me the file?

Do you know which map you are looking for? There are many PDS maps available, 36v, 48v, regular and speed versions.

I suspect their main liability concern is more warranty issues than how fast the cart will go. If the field mapping is able to reduce the field amps too low, the motor will run hotter than normal and can be damaged.

Apparently there are a lot of newly written field maps for XCT controllers. They weren't available when I switched from a DCX to and XCT controller, but I did try two different maps, EZPDS and ES76-51

Max RPM for my ES-76-51 motor with 17" tall tires at 42V was 6450RPM with EZPDS and 6994RPM with ES76-51, however that additional 2.2MPH came with a huge increase armature amps.

The following is the average armature amps vs field amps while the motor is spinning between 6000RPM and 6500RPM

EZPDS = 54.4A Arm vs 2.1A Field

ES76-51 = 101.1A Arm vs 1.2A Field

It takes nearly twice as many amps to go <1% faster, so a lot of motor heat is produced.

I probably should go back to EZPDS, or maybe one of the new maps, since I've got the XCT set to limit the motor to 6500RPM.

This one johnnieb is referencing. Or any that can keep my 42v setup from dropping below the 2A field that Vic recommended I stay over.

Really just any that can keep my 42v setup from dropping below the 2A field that Vic recommended. Street use, max speed

Since there are several PDS maps available these days, I'd try some different ones, record a data log on each while traveling the same test route, and review logs to see which gives you the best performance for your purposes and setup, while staying over 2A.

It takes a little sorting and editing of the data logs to glean the desired info, but I'll give you a hand in that area if needed.

Thanks for your help. Where do I access these maps? Have to get with alltrax directly?

Try these.
One is 48v, the other PDS-DCS 36-48v
Do not open or try to read these files as that may corrupt them.
Neither of these are the speed maps which will weaken the field more.

I might run some data logs on those two next summer.

Of course what I get with my 17" tall tires won't be the same as what someone with taller tires will get. I wonder if Alltrax will ever include tire height as a variable in their field mapping subroutine.

I loaded up the pds-dcs map, and it’s running great [emoji106].

While I had the motor out and shipped off, i got some 20.5” rear tires and new 3 leaf rear springs. Got them balanced when I had them mounted. Rides nice. I like the rear end jacked up a bit higher. riding
