Re: Cart No Go
I'm hoping that's it, I wasn't getting voltage to the solenoid. I haven't checked it yet though

Re: Cart No Go
If the charger wires are not hooked up then there is no power to the cart. It's part of the safety interlock to keep the cart from running if the charger is plugged in. Black to pack negative, white to pack positive and the small red wire has a connection in the harness next to the fnr switch.

Re: Cart No Go
Got the charger wires hooked in, now I've got at least got a beep in reverse, but still no go, and no click on the solenoid. What voltage is the coil on the solenoid. I have 0v across the small terminals when in F position and the pedal is down. I'm assuming I should have voltage on the coil at that point, so I need to track that down...but what is the voltage supposed to be. Thanks

Re: Cart No Go
So I started working my way through the wiring diagram this evening. It looked like I was losing voltage at the n/o switch on the acceleration pedal. So I jumped the switch, put the f/r switch in F and turned the key to on. Then there was smoke from my solenoid. So I'm asking these questions:
1.What would cause the smoke, I technically just pushed the accelerator. Sent from my H1611 using Tapatalk |

Re: Cart No Go
It sounds like the diode on the solenoid coil terminals may have been connected backwards, or the wires to those terminals may have been backwards.
If the diode fried, it probably took out some microswitches with it. |

Re: Cart No Go
Well I have had it off, so that is totally possible. Any chance you have a picture of the correct configuration?

Re: Cart No Go
Well I've got a new solenoid, resistor, diode, and foot pedal switch, on the way for the weekend. I'm hoping to replace these parts and at least get a fresh start on my troubleshooting.

Re: Cart No Go
I'm happy to report that the cart is alive. I was able to actually drive the thing around today. Now that I am confident that it is a running cart, it's time to start cleaning it up and building it up. More build pics to come.
Thanks for all the help getting this far. Sent from my H1611 using Tapatalk |
