Talking 04 club car 48v-doesn’t beep in reverse every time?

Again, 04 48v club car DS IQ. Occasionally does not beep in reverse backing out of the shed or down a neighbors driveway after sitting a few minutes or over night.

Is this a sign of a soon to be failed speed sensor? Or of something else?

If so, and I replace it, should I go with a high speed magnet at the same time, would that make sense as a “while I’m in there” upgrade?

It does not seem to push freely doing the test but, I don’t feel any regen braking when I let off the go pedal.

Would any of this help with torque going up hill? Or am I due to upgrade motor and controller to get there?

Thanks!

The reverse buzzer is activated by the controller on an IQ cart, so it could be something going on inside the controller. If the cart drives fine, I wouldn't sweat it. As for the speed magnet, that is always a nice upgrade to an IQ. Just make sure to get the right one, as there are two types of stock motors.

Looks like it has two screws holding the speed sensor on it. Here is the sticker.

My number is 102240102

The sticky reference show two other numbers?

There are two different motors used on these vehicles. This means there are two different speed sensors as well.

GE motor. This motor is dark grey in color and utilizes a "Snap-in" speed sensor on the end of the motor. OEM# 102265601

ADC Motor. This motor is black in color and is more common. Especially in vehicles built after 2006. The speed sensor is shaped similar to a "Top-Hat" and is held onto the end of the motor by two small bolts. OEM# 102704901

Although I don’t think this looks like the snap in sensor, I seem to have the GE motor? Any idea on which sensor this is?

Found this:

You have the GE motor with the snap in sensor. Also, those two little screws don't hold the sensor in, they hold the bearing retainer in place which is inside the motor. If you remove them, you have to remove and disassemble the entire motor to get things back in place! As for the part numbers, don't worry about them being different, they may have used different numbers based on when the motors were produced.

Here is the speed magnet for your motor: https://www.revolutiongolfcars.com/p...otor-iq-system

If you upgrade the controller, you remove the stock one completely. But, know that you'll have to upgrade cables and the solenoid if you go with anything bigger than 300 amp.
