Default 1999 Club Car DS tire size help

Just getting into the golf cart world and I’ve found this site to be invaluable in helping me out. My new cart is a 1999 Club Car DS series 48 volt cart that will be used around my farm. It’s in excellent shape and ran perfectly but wasn’t able to go up and down the hills on my 22 acres property. It came with 22” tires on 8” steel rims.
So far I’ve upgraded to the Plum Quick Bandit mod motor, I installed the Alltrax SR 48500 controller and installed the 400 amp HD solenoid as well. It has made a huge difference and now can handle the hills much better but I still feel it struggles on some of the property. I am waiting until I can afford to install the 2 gauge cables and hd FR switch hoping that that will help.
My question is would I be better served with 20” tires on 10 rims for that last little bit of torque or is there anything else that I can do to get to where I need to be.
Thanks in advance for your help.

Are your cables getting hot?
The Alltrax usually requires 2 ga cables to allow the 400+ amps to flow.
The stock cables are good for 300 amps and are probably limiting the amount of current the motor is getting.
You might want to consider dialing the Alltrax output down to 300 amps until you get the 2 ga cables and FNR switch.

Thanks fir your help. I made sure to check with ScottyB when I purchased my Alltrax controller and HD solenoid and was told I could run it with my 4 gauge wires temporarily while I waited to upgrade my cable set and FR switch. I wasn’t aware about programming the Alltrax to a lower amp setting and will look into doing that. Ao far nothing has been running extraordinary hot to this point though.
