Default 91 ez-go slow after upgrade

My carts top speed was about 13 mph. I upgraded to a motor with more horses to increase the speed. It increased the top speed to just over 19 mph. I played one round and it did great. After a full charge, I was heaaded out again. This time the cart had very little power. Not even enough to get it up on the trailer. It will only go 5-8 mph now. What did I do? I dont know how to troubleshoot this issue.

Did you upgrade anything else? Wires? Controller? Solenoid?
Start with the basics:
Check each battery with multi meter for voltage.
Check the total battery pack.
Check that all connections are clean and tight as well as at the motor since you replaced it.
Check pot box for Ohms output.
All the above can be found by using the search feature. Welcome to the site.

Thank you. I did not upgrade anything else. I did replace one cable. I just returned from Iraq and it had set for a year so one was in bad shape. All the others looked good.
The V concerning the battery pack is good. As far as I can tell, the connections are good as well.
I will check the pot box and let you know.

Thanks again.

I am not having any luck finding the steps for testing the ohms on the pot box. What it the range?

I tested the pot box ohms. While depressing the peddle slowly, the ohms slowly went to 6.062 ohms.
