How long will a 36volt run
Hey guys I have a 96 ezgo 36volt with beast motor and controller with 4 guauge wires. It also has a 7" lift. Im wondering if I ran 24" or 25" tires how long will the batteries last offroad. Im wanting to go big but if it runs for 3 hours im not really looking for that. Next year Ill up grade to 48volt or 72 volt.
Thanks guys |

A normal golf cart is good for about 12-14 miles depending on load and driving conditions, bigger motor tires and what not will only make that less. Hope this helps. Mark |

Re: How long will a 36volt run
That is hard to estimate. The bigger the tires, the less run time you will have. 25" tires on a 36v? I'd be surprised if you get 1 hour. That's a lot of load for 36V.

Stock drive time is 90 minutes of actual peddle time.... I think Tony's estimate is good

Re: How long will a 36volt run
If you stood on the peddle for 1 hour and 30 minutes.... on level ground at around 13.3 mph you would have about a 20 mile walk back home

Re: How long will a 36volt run
For some reason I never thought of it like that. I guess a 20 mile range is a good estimate. I'm going to have to get new batteries.
That's why Scottyb makes the big bucks around here. coal_man |

Scotty thats a great way to put it. Instead of going in a straight line go in circles the walk home will be shorter.

Re: How long will a 36volt run
I find it amazing that people ask this kind of question so much. The answer should be pretty obvious that it's EXTREMELY DIFFICULT to even give an estimate considering how many variables come into play.
I'll bet there are a lot of people out there, thinking there's something wrong with their cart because they don't attain a certain run-time, when in fact there is not. Their situation simply differs from other people's enough to shorten their run-time. Just how good are the batteries? (all of them) Just how good is your charger? How about the cables? What's your tire pressure? Any mods at all, or totally stock? What type of tires do you have? Are the brakes "properly" adjusted? What terrain are you operating on? What is the gross weight of the cart? The list goes on. |
