Re: RXV a no go
Yes there is voltage before and after the solenoid. Until I can find a way of testing the motor I suspect the controller too.

Re: RXV a no go
The motor may have been overreved and is trash. Can you unbolt it and take a look? I have seen 2 txt like this recently.
Since you can't move the cart with the brake unit off the motor. |

Re: RXV a no go
I removed the brake assy. off of the motor and the cart does roll. How can I tell if the motor is burnt? I ordered a technician ez-go manual for the RXV. Hopefully it has some info that I need.

Re: RXV a no go
I'm skeptical that EZ Go has put in print the problems we have encountered.

I'll keep my fingers cross. The manual cost a pretty penny.

Re: RXV a no go
Received my service and repair manual last week, totally worthless without a scanner and no way of checking the motor too. I think I'm going with an aftermarket controller and motor and rewire it. I'm going to change the rearend to one that has brakes and to accomodate an aftermarket motor. I know it'll cost me but I got the cart for only a couple hundred bucks so I'm not in it too deep. Anyone ever tried rewiring a set up like this, not on a RXV in particular? Or who can point me in the right direction? It's already a 48v volt system so id like to know what else i will need to change. This is my first project at a golf cart.

Re: RXV a no go
That particular 48 Volt system was tried and abandoned by Club Car for lack of range. The E-Z-GO's get away with it because of the efficiancy of the motor/controller setup using AC. If you convert it, you will lose that efficiancy and therefore the range of the cart.
A conversion like you are considering will cost you in the neighborhood of $3000 plus labor and time. Why not spend the money on a scanner and then diagnose the issue and repair the cart? I would almost bet that it would cost you far less than the conversion you are considering....... |

Re: RXV a no go
Or your other option is sell it to someone thats wants a project for double what you paid for it and than get you a more friendly DIY cart.
