5/8 I'm getting ready to do this myself someone was telling me it was 5/16. It looks like the hd solenoid has bigger posts than the batteries

The studs/bolts on most cart batteries and controllers are 5/16 shank size. The studs on the Super-Duty appear to be 3/8, but you might want to go up a 1/32 or so.
I tried to drill out the hole in my cable lugs with a 3/8 bit when I installed a Super-Duty solenoid and I had to do some filing to get them to go on.

The stock cables on a stock cart are lousy at best, fire hazards at worst.
If they are in poor condition, you may see some performance improvements when they are replaced.
Stock cables ought to be replaced when original batteries are replaced, if not before.

For controllers up to 400A, 4Ga will typically suffice. 2Ga is needed for controllers 500A and above.

If any high current cable or connection gets more than slightly warm (about 10°F above ambient air temperature), it needs to be repaired or replaced.
