77 marathon motor spline rear end questions
So through varies testing of the cart today as revealed that the 36 motor has bit the dust. Meaning one of the contacts insided melted and causing no go.
What I mean is when I followed all previous mention ways to test the motor using the s1,s2, a1,a2. The motor doesnt turn at all. When it is all wired in properly according to a diagram, if I discconect and just feed power to s1,a2 and, negative lead to s2, I still read 36v at a1. Another sign that a contactor inside has, gone bad.. Anyways, ive googled & searched through here and have not come up with very much information to my upcoming question. Question is that the system is a 10 spline hookup, I know newer systems use 19splines connectors. Do they make an adapter that allows the old rearend connect to a newer motor or is this part only available if a machinist manufactures it? Like I have a buddy who could make me one to do it, hoewever id prefer if it is already made by a,company to help save some time & possibly save some money. Id rather be able to put like a 6hp motor on there instead of having my 2hp rebuilt. Thoughts or Opinions. Go ahead and lay em out. |
