2012 48v TXT issue
I'll start by saying that I'm not new to ezgo's, but I am new to the delta q 913 charger. I recently picked up a 2012 48v txt with 2014 Trojan 8v batteries. The cart ran fine the first couple of weeks. I haven't used the cart I about 10 days, and it has been sitting in the garage connected to the delta q 913 charger. I have not paid attention to the led lights on the charger. Yesterday I had noticed that the GFCI in the garage was tripped, which in turn caused the outlet that the charger was plugged into it function. I unsure how long the GFCI was tripped.
Anyways, my wife took the cart around the neighborhood today, and it left herstrandedafew blocks from the house. She described that the cart seemed to be losing power, and she would let off of the throttle then get back on it and eventually the cart had no power. Water levels are good in the batteries. I plugged the cart in today, and the lights shown are as follows Yellow Light on 4 bars at top Yellow Light on half battery icon(4th from bottom) Yellow Light on squiggly line (2nd from bottom) 1 1/2 hours later, the lights shown are Yellow Light on 2 bars (5th from top) Yellow Light on half battery icon(4th from bottom) Yellow Light on squiggly line (2nd from bottom) 30 min later Green light on full battery (3rd from bottom) Yellow light on squiggly line (2nd from bottom) The light is green at the plug connection on the cart. Turn the key on, put the cart in FWD, I hear the solenoid click, but the cart doesn't go. Prior to charging, the solenoid would not click at all. Thoughts? |

Re: 2012 48v TXT issue
Did you actually put a meter on the battery pack to see if the charger was indeed putting out voltage?

Re: 2012 48v TXT issue
Charger unplugged from cart? Wont run with charger plugged in. As noted above, check voltage of battery pack. Also, wont harm batteries to cycle charger a few times. IE: charge 'till green "done" light comes on steady, unplug, plug back in to charge again. Also, how did you get the dead cart home? If you towed it without putting the cart's "tow/run" switch to Tow, you may have killed motor, controller, or both. EDIT: i see you added a voltage reading. Its way too low, charge again & check again.

Re: 2012 48v TXT issue
Check voltage when pressing pedal, it should not drop drastically.

Re: 2012 48v TXT issue
Now the solenoid is not clicking every time I push the throttle. Voltage also drops drastically when pushing throttle when the solenoid clicks. When the solenoid doesn't click, voltage doesn't drop
Battery charger still isn't charging for a long period of time as well |

Re: 2012 48v TXT issue
Tested each battery while pressing the throttle(solenoid clicked), and each battery is holding just over 10v

Re: 2012 48v TXT issue
Over 10v each? These carts are equipped with 6x 8v batteries. That would put your "at-rest" voltages over 60v total, but you previously said the pack was at 45v. Something is not adding up here. You also said the voltage was dropping drastically when the solenoid did click. The info is just all over the place (and i dont trust your voltmeter anymore). The "drops drastically when solenoid clicks" is your number one problem. What batteries are in it now? If that answer is "4 car starting batteries i found laying around for testing", this isnt gonna work...
