Club Car Electric Precedent How Tell If IQ or Excel
I just got a 2013 Precedent Electric with serial number PH. How do I tell if motor is IQ or Excel? I am trying to up the speed and don't want to make a mistake. I understand I cannot get the speed code 5 upgrade so am looking at the high speed motor magnet as a solution. Will that do the job with either IP or Excel? Or do I need to know which I have? I have stock 8 inch tires and considering going to 12/street low profile. What can I expect as a speed improvement with the new tires and rims and speed magnet?

Re: Club Car Electric Precedent How Tell If IQ or Excel
OK, I found a post that says the PH serial number car4s are Excel, not IQ. However, I understand there are Excel 1, 2 and 3's. How do I tell what I have? This is so technical makes me want to scream. Should be easily identified coding used.

Its my understanding that the high speed magnet will not work on any Excel Controllers.

The cheapest solution is to buy a speed code 4 from a Club Car Dealer, that will give you 19.2 mph.
Anything faster or more torquier will require a Controller and/or a new motor. |

Re: Club Car Electric Precedent How Tell If IQ or Excel
Excel is Excel. There is no 1, 2, 3, etc..... The PH cars are the first generation Excel. The 2014+ JE cars are also Excel cars, but they use an E.R.I.C. high frequency charging system, therefore they have a different controller capable of recording charge history and battery data. But it's still the same Excel drive system as the PH car when it comes to the way the vehicle behaves and operates.

Just as Sergio mentioned, contact any CC dealer or distributor or authorized repair shop and they will get you the SP4 code and program it in. Usually runs about $100. (I got it for $75 and have heard some paid $120)
