Question 2006 Electric Precedent no reverse

Hi everyone,
I have a 2006 Precedent that has some strange symptoms...it will go forward and shows over 49 volts at the motor, but wont go in reverse. When I put it in reverse and press the gas, the solenoid clicks but I don't get the voltage between the small prongs on the solenoid. In forward I get the voltage. The other symptom is that it will not charge on the club car charger. I want to assume that the OBC needs to be replaced, but I can't figure out how the two issues could be related. I've charged the individual batteries to test things and I don't see any significant voltage loss under a load (in forward)...Any ideas??

Thanks

Try and swap the F1 & F2 cables at the motor (be in Tow and disconnect the Main Neg, first. AND double wrench the nuts!). It is runs in reverse when the Fwd position is selected on the rocker switch, you know you probably have a Controller issue.

And read over the http://www.buggiesgonewild.com/elect...eshooting.html for the charging issues.

Thanks for the quick response! Switched them out and reverse ran in forward gear just fine. Looks like I'm in the market for a new controller.

Then that confirms the motor is fine. As Walt stated, open up the rocker switch and ensure it is operating correctly. If so, order a controller here https://www.revolutiongolfcars.com/c...rs-and-magnets

Get a switch here https://www.revolutiongolfcars.com/p...s-iq-precedent

XCT-300 is the replacement model for you and can get up to a 500 if you want more upgrades down the road.

One other thing I just thought of. There is a rubber waterproofing gasket around the FNR Switch and it jammed up my sw at one time. Pull it out if it's giving you trouble.

Thanks guys, I replaced the controller and now I can go forward and reverse, but the speed cuts out when I depress the go pedal to about 3/4. At that point the power is completely cut off until I release the pedal back to the mid range. I'm thinking MCOR, and have one ordered, but any other ideas??

That can also happen if you installed an Excell controller (Gray) in an IQ cart that uses a Black Controller.

Wow, thanks Sergio, I didn't think that could be the cause. I swapped a stock Curtis 1510A - 5250 with a Curtis 1515-5201. Both are 48V 250A so I thought they would work the same...Will the AllTrex XCT300IQ work for either? That's the one I ordered for an ultimate replacement.

The Alltrax will work great with IQ or Excell carts.

The Gray Excell controller needs some 453Ω resistors in the harness to keep the throttle signal below 4.65v.
