Hey question for you guys on the hubs, say the hubs are stripped are they made to "wear" to avoid stripping the splines on the axles? picked up a new to me 2008 txt for $100, well the said hubs are stripped. Ordered 2 new ones today. Hoping that's all it is, dont want to have to buy axles either. Thanks!

Usually the hubs go first. If it happens again, replace the axle. I always impact tighten the castle nut in the middle.

I use a torque wrench, as it's easier for me to line up the cotter pin hole. I know about how much each 1/2 turn adds torque, and try to land on the higher end of the range.
