Default Allrax Controller upgrade

I have ordered an Alltrax XCT400DCS and 200amp solenoid upgrade. Could someone tell me if I need a diode on the solenoid. I think I read that the new controllers do not need this. Any help would be appreciated.

Then we could rewire history.

EDIT: before pressing send, I noticed I typed "rewired" instead of "rewrite". I pressed send anyway, since it still made sense.

But in this case, I think he wanted the OP to know the post had changed.

Yeah that is a pain that it’s so permanent. You should be able to change or delete what you said at any time.
