will these 2 gaugers allow too much power to pass through them and hurt my 6 gauge cords that go to the motor? i know it would be better to replace all to 2 gauge but....i may not have the 2 gauge motor cables in yet

seriously, its all or nothing! the system is only as good as the weakest link. If you have 6 gauge cables going to the motor, then the 2 gaugers on the batteries are uselesss. And yes those 6 gaugers may get a bit warm with the larger ones feeding, they will act as a bottleneck for the voltage...be very wary of this..i'd suggest waiting and do it right all at one time.

I am in the process of running #2 on my cart, but I am upgrading motor, controller, going from 36 to 48 volt etc....
My lugs only have 1/4" holes in them and I am having to drill them out for 5/16 studs.

Looks good , really heavy , I would also solder the new ones it will keep the ends from fraying and cracking after age. Also if you can find liquid heat shrink it will keep acid from crawling up the Cables.

well, ive got all the cables except one for the motor....great. ill just have to make the other 2 gauge myself but i wont be able to do that for a little while. is there a 4 gauge wire that doesnt take as much load as the others so that i would be able to keep it stock for a little while?

You guys are making this to hard, go to www.genuniedealz.com They have lugs in any size cable that you need and you can get them in the 5/16 hole. I just ordered 22 2ga 5/16 tinned lugs (golf cart sized hole), 5 different colors of 3/4" adhesive lined heat shrink as well as pre-measured solder slugs. Their prices are cheap and they have free shipping.

My 2 gauge welding wire has a rubber sheath that is not near as think as some. My friends wire is way thick. Mine will go through the OBC with a little lube.

All #6 cables need to be upgraded together , your only as good as the weakest link.

But thay being said , it just means you wont get max all the way through until the last on gets upgraded.

Our electric golf carts have the cables in series, so any upgrades will help the system.
Any and all resistance/voltage drops are all added up, so removal of some will help the systems function better.
You may not have any realized gains until you get most of the system upgraded (cables, solenoid, f/r switch...), but even minor changes help the system to operate more efficiently.

Ok I'll do what I can. So about this stupid OBC...should I just run the cable around it and leave the #4 hooked up as well abd running through the hole?
