Re: Cart STILL wont charge ! ! !
Wait!?
You have 8 volt batteries, Correct? You cannot charge them 2 at a time with a 12v charger ! You can charge one 8v battery at a time with a 12v charge IF you have a low 5 or 2amp setting and IF you are very careful not to leave it connected for too long as this will over charge the battery resulting in excess heat and damage to the battery. At 10amps leave it about 30 minutes and move it to the next one. at this rate moving it every 30 minutes you should have the pack up enough for the charger to come on in 3 hours.... Please post individual battery readings BEFORE you do this so we can determine that this is actually necessary and not just a case of a bad charger ... |

Re: Cart STILL wont charge ! ! !
looks like they are all around 2 to 4 volts. I can't get the volts up with my charger. Any other ideas?

Re: Cart STILL wont charge ! ! !
if you cant get the volts up with the automobile charger, then the batteries are shot..... but i would keep trying, ive done it before to some really bad batteries. all you have to do is get enough for the cart charger to take over, then you can take the automobile charger off.

Re: Cart STILL wont charge ! ! !
I'm sorry but I have never seen a battery read 2 or 4 volts and then become fine with any amount of charging..... you can try and try? But I think they are toast ...... a load tester ($25 @ Harbor Freight) will tell the tale

Re: Cart STILL wont charge ! ! !
The cart just stopped charging several months ago, and I had a guy look at it, and he told me it was the OBC. I didnt have the money at the time to fix it, so it has been sitting up for about 7 months. That's why the batteries are so low I guess.

IF they come back up I am sure irreversable damage has been done by leaving them so flat for so long. They are never NEVER suppose to let to go below 50% capacity let alone set there for 7 months.......I am sorry to hear you didn't know this. |
