Default Do I need to chg OBC going 4 12v to 6 8v?

Question for all you experts. Going from 4 12v to 6 8v. does the OBC need to be changed? What problems would I have if I stay with the one already in? Any advise guys? Thanks

According to David (TahoeDawgZ71 ) yes you have too. He is a head CC technician. You could PM him for details. Here is one post.

You don't "Have" to, but I would.... You're not gonna get the full potential and run-time from a set of 8 Volts if they're charged with an OBC that's programmed for 12 Volts

Thanks Tahoe, when you say, won't get the full potential, meaning what?

Full potential of 8v cart batteries being charged by an OBC setup for 12v batteries. If you use your current OBC it wont charge the 8v batteries correctly to their full potential.

So what you are saying is that a set of 8 volt batteries must require a different charging algorithim or a different finishing voltage than a set of 12 volt batteries even though they both have the same number of 2 volt cells? Just trying to be clear because I have had a question about this also.

According to another post the algorithm used for the 12v v 8v is the same.
