What make and model of charger do you have? Is there an equalization function on it? If so, you may want to try an equalization charge or two to try to de-sulfate the batteries a bit (it could help a little but is not a miracle cure).
Are you happy with the run time of your cart ... or do you find that the batteries run down quickly. At 5-1/2 years old, your batteries could be at or could be nearing the "old and tired stage" ... as with life, not much you can do about that but ride them out or as in the case of batteries, replace them. You still have not determined if your battery charger is functioning correctly (reaching 60+ volts when charging). Take your cart for a good run, put it on the charger and do the charging test that I suggested earlier. Some people get 2 to 3 years out of a set of batteries. With good maintenance, some report 5 years. With exceptional care, some are reporting 7 years +. I suspect that your batteries are falling off (which is normal) and not able to accept a full charge (that is ... if your charger is offering them the full 60+ volts). |

Thunderbull,20amp 2010 model year.there is a black push button on front of case unable to read what it is and have never touched it.
Equalization no idea..? Batteries are not in cart so can,t run them down. They seemed fine all summer, put on charge every night,Had one cable get hot due to being loose and ended up repairing it.the 20 amp meter on charger normally started around 12/15 amp .Always used distiller water. Olddog |

2013 batteries? Just keep those old timers charged up and use them till they die. Thunderbull has no equalization button, that black button is a circuit breaker.

Re: 48 volt reading 52 volt after chg month ago
It appears that your charger is working ... And that your batteries are starting to get tired.
Depending on your usage and the range you want to travel, those batteries might last you another year or so. It sounds like you have maintained them well to get 5.5 years plus out if them. I’m “assuming” that your charger does not have a maintenance mode on it, so I would recommend to check the voltage to determine the state of charge and put a fresh charge on them every two weeks or so if you can. It is a lot better on the batteries to charge them more often than not enough. |
