Question Gonnna ask a really dumb question on my G9 battery replacement

When I got this G9 lastmonth the battery was kinda weak, I added distilled water cause it was low, I trickle chg it from time to time and just recently I had to clean the post, but it seems to be a bad cell in the batttery, so, yes I think I need to replace the battery....

What the really dumb question is, instead of going and spending 50-75 bucks on a new battery, ok here comes the dumb question:

I have a brandnew marine battery that I havent taken out of the box yet for my Gheenoe's trolling motor, could I use the marine battery instead of buying a car battery?

WOW! DUDE! You have a Gheenoe?
I've had this one for about 10 years now.
Used to fish the "Hooch" a lot when I lived Gwinnette.
Now it's a pond prowler....LOL.

"Somebody" posted a while back that while a deep cycle battery will work but the generator may not have enough umppph to keep it charged up. But if it is working what the heck, right?

OK, I know it's not totally golf cart related, but it is a heckofa coincidence that we both live in GA, we both have Yammie carts, and we both have Gheenoes.
There's NOT a heck of a lot of Gheenoe owners out there!!

My only concern with a deep cycle battery in a golf car is...if it sits for a month or so, you should be recharging it. Deep cycle batteries loose voltage sitting around. Good luck Dave

I think near any battery will work, I think one of those little riding lawn mower batteries would do it if you had to. I figure they put the car battery in just for longevity. I have a 14hp kohler mower with a generator/starter that has the little rider battery. I also have 55 watt lights on my cart and it never runs out of battery, but I don't think it charges much near idle if you drive slow.
