Re: 89 g-16 for a newbie
Sounds like a good cart, but the G16 didn't come along until '96. If it's an 89 then it's a G1 (two stroke) or a G2 (four stroke). If it runs well look for deep frame rust (surface rust to be expected) and I would insist on a compression check. What is the asking price?

Someone should be along to be able to help you with your compression question.
As for if it's a good cart, it sounds like it runs decent but, remember your buying a 12 yr old cart. Depending on the price, you may find a cart that's newer that may have less 'possible issues' (i.e. needing suspension rebuild, steering, seating, etc) All these parts cost $$. From experience, I would recommend looking around for a little newer cart, that is unless this cart you seen is just a excellent deal of course. There's alot out there right now and the prices are decent. Just my .02 though, Good luck,..... and WELCOME to BGW Kev |
