Tachometer, wiring question

Can a tachometer be installed on a Yamaha G8? I am also trying to install a key start, need some help on wiring in the switch. I can't figure out what the black/red wire is for (goes into the bottom of the crank case). Thanks for the help.

You can get a tiny tach from site sponsor CPP. Not sure on yor other question.

I'm guessing here, but it could be the low oil senser in the bottom of the block. As for a wireing ski. look for one at the top of the Yamaha section(stickys)
