Red face Need advice 80 g1

Somewhere I remember reading about a wire you unhook to get the motor to idle but I can't find it again, told about a white wire if I remember correctly on a relay, however I can't seem to find this relay, thought maybe the white wire on the throttle switch maybe but no it wouldn't turn over, I want to work on the carb and be able to run the engine for a while (its been setting for a number of years)

is there an easier way??

thanks.......

Pull up the floorplate around the foot pedals and fish out the four wires going to the gas pedal microswitch. Disconnect the wire that is black with a white tracer. Be sure to jack up your rear end and block it securely. If your idle is too high you may end up chasing your buggy through the neighborhood.

Thamks for the quick response GMB74, we were close then, I saw those wires there and was going to try but figured I'd better get an expert opinion first, also is there any reason those wires in that harness should be fried?? look like they were hot and I may have to rewire them at some point however it starts and seems to run ok....

and thanks again......

The same wire can be located behind the solenoids, its easier to get to if you don't like it just plug them back together.
