If one side fits, and the other side dosn't, something is wrong. Check alignment first(toe in), or get under the car with a tape and measure from main cross members to A- arms etc. Try to evaluate whether something is bent or pushed back, or out of shape, twisted(frame wise). That will also tell you how much to spend on the car(if wrecked, don't spend much on it, unless you correct the problem).
When I measured mine, everything was within 1/16". Yamaha is pretty tight on tolerances.
