Why not just buy a new air box lid and seal? less then 20.00 and the job is done right. You will probably find the air box lid is warped now also. Just my 2 cents worth.

drill a hole use a tie strap and silicon the hole shut

I have the same problem on my G9. I went to the local Yamaha dealer with make, model and serial# looking for an OEM air box and got laughed at. The parts manager told me the parts have not been available for quite some time.
I am giving the K&N universal filter a try, but I would prefer the stock configuration. If you find a supplier for a new airbox, please let me/us know. |

I gotta go with Crash and Smallblock. Stock parts are the best parts in some situations.

Any Yamaha golf car dealer can get these (available) parts, sheeze I keep 3 lids in stock all the time. Lid part# j38-14412-02-00 list price$12.50/ seal 1vj-14462-00-00 or 50m-14462-00 list price $6.82/straps j10-14436-00-00 list $2.58 each. Don't know if site sponsors carry OEM Yamaha parts, but you could try.
