1982 G1 Nasty oil leak. Any Idea?
Hi Fellas! New here. I just bought an old G1. It runs fine, but has a nasty oil leak when it's running only. The leak is coming from a strange place. On top of the pump, there is a plastic "cap". I removed the cap and underneath is the phillips bleeder screw, and 1/2" ahead of that is a higher (it looks like a vent) plug/screw thing that wiggles a little. When running, the oil boiles out of the center of this "vent" screw/port. I assume this is a vent as the plastic cap has a piece of foam where the top of this "vent" would seat when the cap is on. Any ideas on how to stop/fix this leak, or is this a sign of something expensive and/or dangerous to the motor and should bypass the oil pump and start mixing? Thanks Fellas!
