A friend of mine gave me his wheels off his ezgo txt. They are about 2 1/2" backspacing. My stock club car wheels are about 4". Maybe try that. Not sure if the ezgo wheels were stock.

The aftermarket offset wheels are 2"/5" offset,or 3"/4" offset on a 7" wide wheel. The stock wheels are 8"x7" with no offset on all carts.

i have had a pair of rims from a limo. they were narrower. i think it was so it could turn easier? in any case, i know they were stock, and they were not regular width.

I ended up with 3"/3" centered wheels for the front and added spacers. It was a bit later I came upon 2"/4" offset, of course to late. Everyone says it turns easier than the old wide setup that we had on it. Sorry I can't remember where I got my rims or saw the 2"/4" rims.

I found that running wide tires on all 4 works awesome in water/mud crossing at speed, letting the front float over the top, while narrow fronts tend to dig-in.If you are running low to average speeds(under 15mph)I don't think you will really notice the difference between wide to narrow tires in normal turning,at higher speeds, wide tires tend to push more than turn.Hope this helps.
