Default 96 gas club car blowing fuse wont start

i have a 96 gas club car just replaced battery and voltage regulator started cart and ran fine turned off key but starter kept running. then starter solenoid quit so i replaced with automotive solenoid now when i turn key to start it blows a fuse, if i replace fuse and turn key to on position and jump solenoid it still dont start and has no spark. i am very handy with cars but this is my first cart

I put the old solenoid back in but still blows fuse when I turn key to start and if I jump solenoid still no spark. I am looking at replacing the solenoid and the voltage regulator and start from there
