Starter is not disengaging
Vehicle is a '97 DS gas Carryall II. the PO modified the kill circuit so that it will start as normal with the accelerator pedal but it will continue to idle in forward, reverse, and neutral when the pedal is released. He added a separate momentary kill switch which would kill the engine by shorting out the RPM limiter and igniter.
I don't know why he did all this but that's the subject for another thread. The point is when I got this cart it worked fine but now it starts fine but the starter is not disengaging. I'm assuming that the starter solenoid is not releasing when the engine starts and I can't figure out what tells the starter solenoid to disengage. |
