Why would you ask for help and then ignore it?

I have to agree with crash here. No disrespect intented either. But, I know these guys have a wealth of knowledge here. And common sense says don't tear apart what isn't broken. Not yet anyway.

It could be the driven clutch... if it was... I would think the drive clutch would still open up and the belt would be loose only being stuck by the driven clutch. The driven clutch may be worn enough to open farther than it should causing the drive clutch to stick because it closes beyond it limits. (I kinda doubt it) Anyway the only way I can see this happening (what you have described) is for the drive clutch to stick. If the driven clutch has enough force to snap shut and trap your hand the instance you cut the belt, seems to me it's working right. that's exactly what I would expect it to do. It's easy enough to slide the drive clutch in and out and see if it sticks or binds. Sounds like you tore up the driven clutch prying on it to get your hand out so it's probably as good a place to start as any now.

Hey, i saw a post of yours, but now I can't find it regarding belts and that you use a 3211048 Polaris Belt.
I was going to get one but I see there is a replacement for that part #

I have a 1990 EZGO 2 stroke and based on that 9 page thread, this should work, but not sure with the newer number. Any ideas?

I was using that belt on a 4 stroke cart, it is the same as a stock one for a 2 stroke cart but i'm not sure of the years. they had different sizes depending on the year.
The thread is one of the sticky ones, (shorter belts)

i had a friend come over last night, (master mechanic) as soon as he took the seat off he told me to look at the drive clutch, it was stuck closed while it should have been open, is there any way of cleaning these things? there is a rattle/loose weight inside of the drive clutch
