G1 Shock replacement
Hi folks,
New here, looks like a great forum. I just ordered new OEM front and rear shocks for my G1... did so because you can feel the bumps big time. What I need to know is will I need to use a spring compressor when I change them out? Thanks in advance, stevek |

Re: G1 Shock replacement
I believe the new units come as the entire coilover shock assembly.

Re: G1 Shock replacement
Where did you order the shocks from? If it's from BU, you may be better off leaving yours on it. Try Cart Parts Plus @ 888.861.2640 or East Coast Custom Carts, Inc. @ 954.701.9133 for everything else. They carry top-of-the-line merchandise with much better prices than BU on most things. Some of BU's stuff is cheaper but tha'ts because it's CRAP!

Re: G1 Shock replacement
None, Remove the nuts first, jack it up just enough to unload the shock or until you can turn the bolt easy and then remove them. replace with new shocks and reinstall bolts.

None, Remove the nuts first, jack the cart, not the axle up just enough to unload the shock or until you can turn the bolt easy and then remove them. replace with new shocks and reinstall bolts.

Re: G1 Shock replacement
Just wanted to let you know, golfcartparts.com shipped my shocks (I ordered Wednesday), they arrived YESTERDAY (Thursday) and I changed them out yesterday in about 45 minutes...
Thanks for all your assistance! Regards, stevek |
