Mached up my carb last night and found the the bowl hits the crankcase breather nipple even with 2 spacers on the intake. If I cut the nipple off I wont even need to use spacers which would be ideal. I tried looking to see if they sell a different breather assembly but havent found anything. Any ideas around this? I dont wanna run a third spacer

The breather needs to be hooked up to your air intake so it can scavenge the engine of positive air pressure. I know people often vent that to atmosphere but that doesn't give the pcv system a true vacuum to do it's job. There are performance benefits to this, although minor. The biggest benefit would be keeping pressures in the crankcase from building up and causing blowby and blowing out gaskets. On mine I used two spacers and 3 gaskets, worked fine.

unfortunatly I cant mount the carb that side due to the gas tank being there. Not sure where I could run the breather line and hook it into. Slo, do you have any pics of your setup?

Slo, looking at your pics it looks like your briggs doesnt have the crankcase breather in the middle valley of the motor? The VM drain nipple with the hose at the bottom of the bowl hits the large nipple on the breather assembly on mine even with 2 spacers on the intake. If I cut the breather nipple off flush I would have no issues but im taking a chance of water intrusion into the motor.
