Smile Yamaha G16e - new batteries little power

I'm new to golf carts. Just bought a 1999 Yamaha G16e. The batteries were shot. I replaced all 6 just 2 weeks ago. After brief usage, I charged them for the first time. The charger said 15.6 hours before it turned off (my cart is out of town at a recreational dwelling).

The thing seems ok on flat surfaces but has no hill power. A, 8% incline slows it to a walk.

I'm suspecting the motor. Anyone have ideas?

Thanks,
Mike T
