I don't think there are any cons on that new of a cart, seems it could have a 13hp engine and some come with posi track but I don't know the actual years that this stuff I posted started in.

Gas is great. Love my ezgo with 13 HP motor. She does 30 mph with governor adjusted. Only downside to gas is it is loud when you are going.

2013 Should have the 400 cc Kawasaki in it. Good motors if taken care of. Should have the Team clutches as well. More torque. If you are going to mess with the governor I suggest you buy a tach to keep an eye on rpm. I have been told they start to float the valves at 4000..

Re: 2013 ez-go gas to be or not to be
KG is correct - the 401's have no electronic rev limiter (they rely on the governor) so with the governor cranked in, valve float BECOMES your "rev-limiter". I personally prefer the pre-2008 Robins engines (both the 295 and 350) because as a twin they are "torquier" (if that's a word, LOL) and much much smoother than the one-thumper 401cc Kawasaki, although as mentioned earlier in the thread, the TEAM clutches help alleviate that downfall.
If You can, try and drive both before deciding (2008-down and 2009-up) - other than the drivetrains there really isn't any difference but the one-lungers and the twins are definitely two entirely different carts to drive |

Re: 2013 ez-go gas to be or not to be
The 350 was used from 94 til early 08, however the bulk of the carts manufactured used the 295. The 350 was reserved for the Workhorse/MPT, the Oasis Beverage Carts, the ST-model carts, and The Cushman/Jacobsen 1200 series as a rule ... That siad, I still hands-down would rather have a 295 engine than the 401 single, due to (as mentioned) the smoothness and wider powerband, quiet operation, etc

No, I spoke with my dealer yesterday as I'm paranoid about valve float. He said it is done by computer (Governor adjustment) to the tolerances of the motor. It is brand new and has a year warranty. I was looking into a Tachometer to keep an eye out. I figure, I'll run the piss out of it and if it blows, its covered. After the yeat is up, if it goes, time for Big Block! |
