Default 03 G22 has spark, fuel, compression, air but won't start

I have checked the big 4 all seems good. It pops right over with starter fluid but dies after it burns off. I dissembled the carb, cleaned the jets, body, etc. Tested the (new) fuel pump. It squirts like crazy. I'm stumped. Ideas are very welcome.

Check the vacuum line form the fuel pump to the motor, take the end off the fuel pump and blow it out, but sounds like it is squirting fuel so that might not be your issue

If it fires right up on starting fluid, and fuel shoots right out the fuel line, the problem lands squarely at the carburetor. Clean it again, and replace the needle valve.

It turned out to be the carb just as cgtech suggested. Thanks! With a clean float bowl it no longer smoked either. Now it's for sale :o)
