I am having a power issue G16e
I have a Yamaha 2000 electric that has been running fine. I drove it up to my workshop area, went inside to get the Lestronic II charger I have been working on, came back out and plugged it into the cart to run my tests on the charger. I determined some connections in the charger were bad and unplugged from the cart. I verified voltage in the cart charger port at 38volts before and after removing the charger. I went to move the cart and it was dead in the water, no solenoid click, no reverse buzzer, no nothing. I was going to test the solenoid thinking maybe I screwed something up with the charger somehow, but the bolts on the solenoid were so rusty I couldn't get a good connection. I PB blasted them, waited and proceeded to break the bolts off, as usual. I ran and picked up a new solenoid, installed, and still have the same problem. No click, no reverse buzz, dead in the water, only sound is micro switch on accelerator. Since the solenoid is brand new and all the battery cables are clean and have good connections, I have eliminated those two possibilities. I am assuming it is some sort of power issue. I checked the 10amp fuse and it is good. I plugged in a different charger, one that works thinking there may be some safety switch I tripped and the different charger fires up and starts charging. I disconnect the charger and am still dead in the water. Any suggests?

You may want to pull and test the 2 diodes. Should have continuity in one derection ,but not the other. Just a thought. Dave

Sounds like the charger safety interup is defective.

As far as I know they stopped installing "Charge Lock" recepticals on the G8's models, and haven't used them since.

Re: I am having a power issue G16e
Motor is goods, key switch is good, the foot contactor is good, jump the solenoid its good , 49v to all. Paid big bucks for speed controller rebuild. still nothing. I have no ground and I guess, that ground is made up in the controller and the controller is still bad.
